Fifth-Generation Bionic Cultivation System

This system simulates the natural growth environment of Antrodia Cinnamomea, reconstructing its related properties, including physical characteristics such as surface properties and moisture content, environmental characteristics such as temperature, humidity, and light, nutritional characteristics such as tree composition and carbon-nitrogen sources, and other characteristics such as pH value and trace elements. Supplemented with a nutrient solution extracted from Cinnamomum kanehirae branches, which provides the necessary nutrients for Antrodia Cinnamomea growth, this system successfully overcomes the issues of insufficient Cinnamomum kanehirae raw materials and the slow growth of Antrodia Cinnamomea fruiting bodies, producing products with stable quality comparable to wild Antrodia Cinnamomea.

Due to the scarcity and difficulty in harvesting wild Antrodia Cinnamomea, Taiwanese biotechnology companies have actively developed artificial cultivation techniques. Currently, the common artificial cultivation methods for Antrodia Cinnamomea include:

Log Cultivation Method

This method involves inoculating Antrodia Cinnamomea strains onto logs of Cinnamomum kanehirae, simulating its natural growth environment. The advantage is that the product quality is close to that of wild Antrodia Cinnamomea, with higher active ingredients. The disadvantages are the long growth cycle, high cost, and difficulty in obtaining Cinnamomum kanehirae logs.

Liquid Fermentation Method

This method involves fermenting and cultivating Antrodia Cinnamomea in a liquid medium. The advantage is a short production cycle, suitable for large-scale production. The disadvantage is that it only produces mycelium, lacking the active ingredients of the fruiting body.

Solid-State Cultivation Method

This method involves cultivating Antrodia Cinnamomea on a solid medium, such as grains or sawdust. The advantages are simple operation and low cost. The disadvantages are that it mainly produces mycelium, with very little fruiting body content, and the risk of aflatoxin contamination in grains.

Petri Dish Cultivation Method

This method involves cultivating Antrodia Cinnamomea fruiting bodies in petri dishes. The advantage is the ease of observing and controlling growth conditions. The disadvantages are low yield, incomplete fruiting body components, and differences in proportion compared to wild Antrodia Cinnamomea.
